How to get here

By Car:
Messini is located 265 kilometers from Athens. The route you can follow, if you start from the Attiki Odos is as follows:

• Attiki Odos continue on the Athens-Corinth national road (for about 80 km/40-50 minutes drive).
  
  
• After Corinth continue towards Tripoli (pay attention to the road signs so as not to miss the exit (distance about 81 km/40 minutes drive).
  
  
• When you reach Tripoli continue your journey on the new national road towards Megalopoli - Kalamata (85 km/50-70 minutes drive).
  
  
• Just before reaching Kalamata turn right towards Messini - Petalidi (it has signs).

Total journey time: 200 - 230 minutes.

From Athens, there are routes to Chranoi. Departure is from the central Athens KTEL station in Kifissos (Kifissos 100, on the Athens national road).

From the Intercity Bus Station (Athens KTEL) in Kifissos, the distance is covered in approximately 4 hours with routes throughout the day.

Kalamata is connected to Patras, by bus in 4 hours and by train in 6 hours. From Sparta via Taygetos, the visitor arrives in 1.5 hours after traveling 60 km, passing through pine and fir forests.

The local KTEL operates two bus routes per day in approximately 2 hours. Kalamata is 100 km from Gythio and 80 km from the Diros caves, which are covered by a route that fits harmoniously with the wild Mani landscape.

Sea Access
From Patras, which is connected by ferry to the ports of Italy (Ancona - Printesi - Bari), the visitor reaches Kalamata in approximately 3 hours, after traveling 215 km.

Kalamata is connected by ferry to Kastelli Kissamos, Chania, in the summer months, in approximately 7 hours.
